Why was the data set created?

Annual hydrology product covering area 2km inland of the coastline for 2003 was exported out of the ENVI software (V.5, 2012) as raster images with all areas dichotomized into water detected (1) and solid ground detected (2) at 250 meter spatial resolution. The raster file was then converted into a vector-based format (ArcGIS shapefile) that permits computations of water and ground areas for each year and to visualize possible change detected between the two spatial means of 2 years of observations (2003 and 2012).
